I read it for you so you didn’t have to: Digg vs. MySpace
A few days ago profilesblog.com wrote a short blog post about 5 Myspace Morons. Cheeky, whole-hearted, nim-wits on MySpace. Like the guy with the massive guns to the right.
Digg picked up the story and within 24 hours, it was moved up to the front page on 1700+ Diggs. On the comments for the Digg post, Fredmv identified the morons to their respective MySpace pages.
Less than a day after that, skippyoh posted a new story to Digg that made it to the front page within a hour. One of the MySpace morons replied to the coverage found on digg. Channel Joy had put a picture of Myspace Moron #1’s response onto Flickr, a mostly unreadable tirade entitled “Ayo Digg.com dun FuCked wit da w Rong G. Current modd: (angry face) angry.”
Thankfully, coheedcollapse provided an excellent translation for those of us who don’t speak web based mixed-capitalization gangster.
But it all turns out the MySpace moron #1 is a fake! A World of Warcraft forum post proves that its a running hoax for over a year.
The lesson here is that Digg is useless, MySpace is useless and a sizable chunk of the Internet is useless. Your welcome.
