Spectacular isn’t enough. spaceships: More photos of the unfinished hotel on fire at Beijing’s CCTV complex, less than 10 minutes away from where I live. I didn’t realize how huge the fire was until I saw these pictures. Not surprisingly, CCTV isn’t broadcasting ANY of this on television.  At least not yet. My roommates actually went over to check it out and were able to get pretty close.  They said the fire was too high up for it to be doused with hoses… and that a horde of young guys in military uniform were trotting to the scene carrying small white empty basins. Poor Rem, kind of.
